PROFESSIONAL MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMME IN DISASTER RISK MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT STUDIES.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates for admission into the Professional Masters Degree in Disaster Risk Management and Development Studies should possess the following requirements:

i. Five ‘O’ Level credit passes including English and Mathematics and any of Geography, Biology and Agric Science plus any two subjects.

ii. Minimum of Second Class Lower Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences, Social Sciences, Medicine, Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Town Planning and other related field from recognized Institutions.

iii. Evidence of National Youth Service (NYSC) discharged Certificate or exemption letter.)

COURSE DURATION
The programme will be by both course work and independent research run on full-time basis. The duration of the program is a minimum of three semesters (18 months) and maximum of six semesters (36 months).

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates are required to earn a minimum of 52 units before graduation. This shall consist of 31 units of core courses, 6 units of thesis and a minimum of 15 units of elective courses. The grading system is free – fall (Grades A – F). To graduate, a candidate must attain a minimum of ‘E’ grade in all core and elective courses.
